Position SummaryThe Health Information Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate, organized, and confidential patient health records in compliance with healthcare documentation standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports medical records operations through record management, reporting, document processing, and coordination with internal departments.QualificationsKnowledge of health information management and medical records proceduresFamiliarity with Medicare/Medicaid regulations and patient confidentiality requirementsUnderstanding of medical terminologyStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify incomplete or missing documentationProficiency in word processing and general office software applicationsStrong organizational, communication, and record management skillsAbility to accurately gather, classify, and maintain detailed information and recordsMinimum RequirementsMinimum of 9 months of experience or coursework in records management preferredMinimum of 3 months of experience or coursework in medical terminology preferredTyping and data entry experience requiredEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
