Senior IT Hardware Buyer | ITAD & Secondary Market

Reports To: EVP of ITAD

Location: On-site Chantilly preferred; hybrid/remote considered for highly experienced candidates with an established industry network
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 base salary, plus tiered commission

Position Summary

Securis is looking for an experienced IT hardware buyer, trader, or sourcing professional who knows how to find and win bulk used-technology deals. This is not a traditional procurement position. You will operate in the secondary IT hardware market, building supplier relationships, identifying acquisition opportunities, evaluating equipment, negotiating deals, and purchasing assets for resale.

We're looking for someone with experience buying or brokering laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, or other enterprise technology through ITAD providers, VARs, leasing companies, brokers, resellers, or other secondary-market channels.

You'll inherit the resources and capital to move quickly on strong opportunities while building a sourcing pipeline capable of significantly expanding our current acquisition volume. Our long-term goal is to scale this function to $5M–$10M+ in annual IT asset acquisitions.

What You Will Do:

Revenue Ownership 

• Own and execute a sourcing strategy to drive $5M–$10M+ annually in IT asset acquisitions
• Scale inbound inventory volume significantly, with a focus on high-demand laptops, desktops, and servers
• Niche asset identification: Beyond standard PC and server hardware, proactively identify and source high-value specialized electronics, ensuring all acquisitions align with Securis’s core mission of securely repurposing electronics.
• Take full accountability for sourcing performance, deal flow, and revenue contribution

Deal Origination

• Identify and win bulk asset opportunities across enterprise clients, VARs, leasing companies, and brokers
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of high-quality sourcing opportunities
• Actively prospect, network, and generate new deal flow in a competitive market

Deal Execution  

• Lead high-stakes negotiations and manage purchase or consignment agreements
• Structure deals that optimize margin, velocity, and resale potential
• Move with urgency to secure opportunities in time-sensitive, competitive situations

Market Intelligence

• Analyze complex asset manifests and perform ROI-based valuation
• Determine Maximum Viable Bids (MVB) based on market demand, condition, and resale strategy
• Stay ahead of pricing trends, buyer demand, and secondary market dynamics

Relationship Management

• Leverage and expand an existing Rolodex of ITAD, VAR, and leasing partners
• Build long-term relationships that drive repeat business and consistent deal flow
• Establish Securis as a trusted, high-performing buyer in the market

Collaboration

• Partner closely with Sales and Remarketing teams to align purchasing decisions with real-time demand
• Participate in on-site asset evaluations and deal validation as needed
• Travel 50% for site visits, partner meetings, and industry events

What We Are Looking For:

Required

• 2+ years of experience sourcing or buying used IT hardware in the secondary market
• Established relationships within the ITAD, VAR, leasing, brokerage, or secondary IT hardware market, with the ability to build and expand a supplier network
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, negotiate, and close high-value deals independently
• Strong understanding of secondary market pricing, grading, and resale dynamics
• Ability to work on-site in Chantilly, VA, or travel to our Chantilly location at least once per month.

Preferred

• Experience sourcing laptops, tablets, and notebooks at scale
• Demonstrated experience sourcing and closing meaningful used IT hardware transactions, ideally totaling $1M+ annually
• Familiarity with ITAD processes, grading standards, and resale channels
• Experience evaluating large asset manifests and performing ROI-based bidding
